BlackHawk Networks – Energy Management Solution - Patents Pending in the U.S.
BlackHawk Networks is proud to announce a revolutionary new offering, the Energy Management Solution (EMS)*. It’s the first solution that truly takes a proactive approach to energy management. This solution was conceived specifically for the Barnett Shale region to address issues faced when producing in urban and high impact areas. It is oilfield tough and designed for worldwide deployment.
The system is designed to be the safety lock on your investments and protect the communities in which you do business. EMS is the ultimate risk management tool to display corporate stewardship and community goodwill. EMS is a new and better way of conducting business.
The Need
The storm clouds of legislation mandating various levels of safety and security are gathering. More and stricter ordinances can be expected from the railroad commission, states and municipalities. A proactive stance and view of corporate stewardship is now an affordable one; waiting until it’s too late usually costs more.
Security today is paramount in the energy business, especially in the Barnett Shale where security needs are increasing at warp speed. As drilling encroaches on urban areas, the community wants and needs to know if gas producers are prepared and intend to be as good a neighbor as they know how to be.
Management now has the opportunity to take advantage of advanced technology that dramatically reduces business risk, streamlines operations and protects assets.
Whether it is SCADA, real-time video/audio, toxic chemical sensors, remote well control, access controls, digital recording and archive of site activity, or secure intranet between employees and the home office, there is a clear need for a communications infrastructure to provide instantaneous information for the business leader.
"Energy Management Solution is THE security, surveillance and risk management tool to protect both citizens and gas wells in high profile and urban areas. With 24/7 2-way audio/video control by lease operators and Network Operations Center personnel with remote well shut-in capabilities, it is the benchmark management tool for operations and corporate citizenship. Powered by a broadband wireless network, opportunities are available to gain real-time business intelligence not previously available."

BlackHawk Networks – Virtual Gate Guard
Solution - Patents Pending in the U.S.
In today's urban drilling environment, the
proximity of drill sites to local neighborhoods is
getting closer and closer, and the need to control
and document who enters and exits the facilities is
becoming paramount. Even in remote areas
during the "Drilling" and "Completion" stages, well site access in critical areas
requires 24/7 security and control. The current solution typically employs personnel
who live at the entrance of the well site 24/7. Although a quick and seemingly
inexpensive solution to the problem, there are a number of issues associated with
deploying people to monitor gate access. Each location requires a travel trailer with
a generator, sewage treatment, water supply, and regular visits for maintenance
and replenishment. of these. In a number of cases, trucks arriving during the middle
of the night are not stopped or documented, and ultimately vehicles entering the
facilities are not qualified for entry but merely noted for future reference.
BlackHawk's Virtual Gate Guard solution provides a 24/7 controlled access solution in
which vehicles are not granted access to the facilities without proper authentication.
Each of our installed locations maintains PIN number access in order to gain entry to
the well site. Additionally, as each vehicle enters and exits the well site, the vehicle
and its license plate is documented for future reference using our license plate
camera and general area camera. If a vehicle arrives at a site without
proper access codes, the driver contacts our 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC)
using the "on-site" phone to request access. If approved, the BH NOC can then open
the gate allowing access to the well site. Additionally, each site maintains an
"Emergency" button that can be pressed in case of a site emergency, notifying the
BH NOC immediately. With the BlackHawk Virtual Gate Guard in place you
never have to worry about personnel falling asleep, trailers running out of water, or
workers being hurt while watching the facilities.
